Senior and Eagle Scout Projects

Hillsboro Parks & Recreation will work with boy scouts and high school students to complete Eagle Projects and Senior Projects as projects become available. We encourage students and scouts to bring additional project proposals to the Volunteer Services Coordinator. Projects can be nature or classroom based.

Here is a list of potential projects:

Senior & Eagle Project

Curriculum Development

  • Develop a lesson plan to be used for elementary level after school programs and/or
  • Develop service-learning curriculum for any grade range that incorporates nature and learning

Park Trail Map Development - Limited Availability

  • Create a park trails map - project details to be determined. Click here for an example of a trail map developed as an Eagle project by Nathan Tomlinson, Troop 594.
Senior & Eagle Project
  • Write trail descriptions, take photographs, and develop methodology to measure trail distances in selected park(s)

Hillsboro Parks & Recreation can meet with you to discuss additional project ideas such as leading and organizing a special event, develop service learning projects, complete an internship, and many more. We welcome new and innovative project ideas!

For more information, or if you have any questions, contact Scott Crowell at 503-615-2400 or by e-mail at scott.crowell@hillsboro-oregon.gov. We look forward to working with you!
