Goals

Goal 1: Retention/Expansion/Transition

• Strengthen and grow Hillsboro’s existing traded sector companies (those exporting goods and services outside the local area) in order to retain existing family wage jobs and create new opportunities
  for growth.

Goal 2: New Business Development and Clean Technology

• Proactively recruit innovative companies developing Clean Technologies (Solar, Wind, Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage) to locate in Hillsboro. Includes companies engaged in researching and developing new materials and applications, manufacturing, developing
  effective and efficient control systems, “smart grid” interface, and others in the value chain.

Goal 3: Downtown Development

• Invest in projects and programs that revitalize downtown Hillsboro
  and strengthen the surrounding neighborhoods.
